Appearance: Subaru stands at around 5'5", with rather shaggy black hair which brushes past his eyebrows . He is on the slim side, long-limbed and graceful for someone of his stature. Pale-skinned Subaru has emerald-green eyes which are more often than not three-quarters of the way closed. His clothing is something out of a bygone era - he wears a half-cloak with the collar's left side upturned, and that which trails the floor. The cloak is kept in place with a metal fleur-de-lis like sigil on the left chest, which is connected to the cloak's back by a length of metal chain. Underneath it he wears a white scarf and a black tuxedo, under which, in turn, he wears a white long-sleeved undershirt.

Contrary to popular belief, his vampirism only slows down his aging process, not completely stops it.

Subaru is never seen without a chain necklace that has a large silver pendant of two wings crossing each other - a complement to his twin's.

Personality: Still waters run deep - that best describes Subaru's personality. He is most of the time calm about anything. He likes to think things through; he is the foil to his brother's rash demeanor.

He does not flaunt his advantages over others; others may percieve him as a meek and gentle soul at first glance. He often smiles wanly, as if amused by a little secret of his. However, when it comes to defending his loved ones Subaru is ruthless; few dared to challenge him and none yet had lived.

Subaru has never had a close friend other than his brother; they stay in worlds for far too a short time for him to do so. He is rather...clueless when dealing with long-term relationships, and he often prefers his brother's company to anything else.

Abilities/Strengths: Subaru is a vampire; thus he is gifted with inhuman strength, speed, and agility. He also has extraordinary regenerating powers. He has the ability to cast glamours and attract non-vampires to him. Subaru also has limited dreamwalking powers, he can interfere with other's dreams and speak to them.

Subaru can also communicate telepathically and read other's thoughts. He can also Turn another human by giving the human his blood, or if when feeding, the human feeds back from him.

Weapons: Aside from his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, Subaru's razor-sharp nails can extend to about two-feet, which he uses to maim and draw blood.

Weaknesses: Subaru is not affected by the sun, garlic, or silver; he is, however, susceptible to a stake through the heart or beheading. He cannot enter places of worship, and he must be invited into a room or house before he can enter. He also has the tendency to fall asleep at the most inopportune of times; an aftereffect of his long slumber underneath Tokyo.

He must also drink blood once every ten days to sustain himself.

Subaru is greatly dependent, emotionally, on his brother, Kamui, and he will do anything to protect his brother from danger.

History: Subaru is one-half of a pair of purebred vampire twins - the other being Kamui - being chased across dimensions by Seishirou, a treasure hunter. In their home country, they were sons of vampire nobility, powerful both physically and politically. The brothers were inseparable, and tied by their father's blood had vowed to protect each other no matter what.

One day, however, while Subaru was gazing out their room's window - as he was often prone to do, occassionally glancing back at his sleeping brother - something drifted across his vision. Curious, he reached out and grasped the tail of it, revealing 'it' to be a feather of some sort. Subaru immediately felt a rush of power go through him, and he let the feather go. However, the feather stuck to his fingers, and to Subaru's horror, sank into his palm and disappeared. The rush of power was gone, and he felt as nothing had happened, but Subaru was still shaken.

That night someone had dared to suddenly...appear in the middle of a ball, introducing himself as the vampire hunter Seishirou and suddenly taking Kamui hostage by holding him at stakepoint. Subaru immediately rushed to his brother's aid, demanding that he be let go at once. Seishirou refused, and the terms of the exchange would be him for Kamui.

Kamui protested violently, and Seishirou said that he would return in a fortnight for their decision, Kamui still in his hands. At midnight, however, Subaru invoked the help of the interdimensional witch, Yuuko - and in exchange for his blood and Turning another mortal, the twins had been granted with the ability to cross dimensions. When Seishirou returned, Subaru immediately took his brother in hand and created a rift in reality, before jumping in.

When they woke they already were in another country than their own. In a week the vampire hunter was hot on their trail. That is how they came to jump between worlds, never staying for too long.

When the twins arrived in Tokyo, they were immediately pulled into the underground water reservoir, where one of Sakura's feathers trapped Subaru in a cocoon of sorts and making him fall into a deep sleep. Kamui stood guard over his slumbering brother and, in turn, the underground reservoir itself, which made people lose suspicion in the newcomer. When another group of interdimensional travelers arrived - Sakura and Co., however...

Subaru helped the Princess wake up from her sleep, and in the rush of the events that had followed, he himself had woken from his slumber and held the fainted Sakura in his arms, apologizing for waking her at the most inopportune of times.

Subaru, through Mokona, spoke to Yuuko and wished for the water in the destroyed underground reservoir to return. Yuuko agreed, but in exchange, Subaru had, once again, to give his blood - this time to save the magician Fai's life. It was Kamui who took on the price, however, and he Turned Fai.
